We live it. We love it. We get it.

Our Coaches

Our coaching staff is comprised of experienced (and still active) athletes who bring their specialized expertise to the team. We consider it an honor and privilege to be leading these exceptional young humans in their pursuit of sport.

Mandy Lovett | Executive Director, Head Coach

Mandy has been coaching youth triathlon since 2018. Inspired by her own youth racing history, she was instrumental in creating, developing, and growing a youth triathlon team called TriEMAC, which was founded in a local USA Swimming club. The success of that team was the springboard for FireFly Tri. Mandy swam competitively up through her college years. She started racing triathlon in 1992, and learned to balance the demands of triathlon with her primary sport (swimming). Mandy was a member of the National Junior Triathlon Team during the 1994 and 1995 seasons. Mandy has raced throughout the United States and internationally. She is a member of USAT’s Century Club for having raced in nearly 200 races. She continues to compete in triathlon and masters swim meets to this day. Previously a practicing attorney, Mandy is now a USA Triathlon Level II Certified Coach with a Youth and Junior focus. She is also a USA Swimming certified coach. She finds her joy in working with youth athletes and watching them excel. As a means to foster the local youth triathlon community, Mandy has directed numerous youth races. She lives in the Lehigh Valley with her husband and two sons.

Pat is our cycling specialist. She has been a USA Cycling certified coach who comes to us from our local velodrome, the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. Pat has spent the better part of a decade developing youth and junior cyclists, both as a coach and a team manager.  She has also been a track and road racer in her own right.

Spend any time around Pat on the bike, and her love of cycling is contagious. She’s just as eager to pass on the skills, knowledge and expertise that will enable young triathletes to successfully compete.
